For a Google Map & Directions: Click on First Map and Second Map (and a map of Merced, just in case)

Take Highway 101 to the 152-East Pacheco Pass Exit and follow the signs.

When you reach the valley, you can either go north on I-5 and follow the "Northern Route" directions once you get to Manteca, or continue on 152 to Los Banos.  I-5 can be less tedious than the route through Merced.  If you go up I-5, take Exit 461, which is Highway 120 toward Sonora and follow the rest of the directions to the cabin for the "Northern Route" .  That exit is 58 miles north of the junction of I-5 and 152.  (Note: Taking 152 and I-5 to get to Highway 120 is about 18 miles longer than going via 680/580 through Livermore.  152 and I-5 is a reasonable alternative on a Friday afternoon when traffic through Fremont and Livermore is very heavy).

If you opt to go through Merced, follow the directions below:

Head over Pacheco Pass on CA-152. Continue through Los Banos on CA-152.    There is a Starbucks and Quizno's on the left, just past the stop light at Mercey Springs Rd. (Hwy 165).  This pit-stop is 111 miles from the cabin.

About 20 miles east of Los Banos, take CA-59 North toward Merced.  You are 91 miles from the cabin.

Continue into Merced and pass under CA-99.  You are 75 miles from the cabin.
Note that just past 99 there is an In-N-Out Burger store on the left, just before the railroad tracks.

At 16th Street turn Right (Note that you can also turn Left here and follow the CA-59 signs. That road has more traffic, but fewer lights).
At "G" Street turn Left

Follow "G" Street through town. Lots of gas stations & places to eat here.
(Olive Street has a major mall, Lowe's and most of the standard restaurants)

Keep going on "G" street out of town. It will eventually turn into Snelling Road.
About 14 miles after you leave Merced, Snelling Road will "Tee" into CA-59. Turn Right.

In less than a mile, you will be in the middle of Snelling. Your next turn will be a LEFT onto "La Grange Road", also labelled J59.  You are 57 miles from the cabin.

Continue out of Snelling on La Grange Road (J-59).

Stop at the stop sign at CA-132 and do not turn.  You are 46 miles from the cabin.

Continue on La Grange Road (J-59), passing the signs for Lake Don Pedro, until it intersects with CA-108.

Turn Right on CA-108/120.  You are 30 miles from the cabin.

In a few miles, Hwy 120 and 108 split.  Hwy 120 veers off to the right and goes toward Yosemite.  You do NOT want to take that road .... continue on Hwy 108 toward Sonora.   You are 26 miles from the cabin.

Jamestown is next ... small historic town.  There are a couple of good restaurants here, a late 1800's operating railroad & museum etc.

Sonora is next.  There is a new bypass around the town.  Following the highway and taking the bypass is the quickest way through.  There will be a shopping mall on your left with Mervyns, WalMart etc.  Mono Way is the "old" highway which runs parallel to the new bypass.  If you need to stop, take this exit and follow Mono Way to the east for gas stations, restaurants etc.  Otherwise, stay on 108 .... eventually the bypass ends and you will come to a stop light.  Follow the 108 signs toward Pinecrest and turn RIGHT.  In less than 1/4 mile, follow the 108 signs and turn LEFT. (This is where the new bypass re-joins the old Hwy, which is now Mono Way).

Keep going straight - Hwy 108 East.  At the light at Soulbysville Road, you are 11 miles from the cabin, and you will start gaining elevation.

You will pass a couple of signs for Tawin Harte.  Twain Harte is a couple of miles off the highway to your left.  You will pass through the towns of Confidence, Sugar Pine, Mi-Wuk Village and Sierra Village.  There are some gas stations in the towns.

About a mile past Sierra Village, turn RIGHT onto WHEELER ROAD.  (You will be going down a hill, it will flatten out, and you will see the sign for Wheeler Road.).  If you pass the 5000 ft. elevation sign, or Long Barn, you went too far.

After you turn on to Wheeler Road, you will come to the security gate.  Pull up to the little house.  There is a keypad control on the wall.  Either use the gate key you received from us, or follow the instructions we gave you.

The gate will swing open, and you will follow the road down the hill, about 3/4 mile or so.  At the bottom of the hill, you will pass a maintenance building on the left, and some open grassy areas.  Keep following the road, and bear right onto WEST Jordan Way.  Follow West Jordan around as it curves to the left.  The cabin is the 4th or 5th one on the right.  It is the last one in a group before the "DIP" sign, and corresponding drainage dip in the road.   The address is 25170 West Jordan.  Open the car door and breathe in the smell of the Sugar Pines ...

The Cabin phone number is 209-586-1486.  Note: AT&T phones lose cell service after Sierra Village.  Verizon (voice and text) works at the cabin, Pinecrest and most parts of Dodge Ridge.
